If you missed the BBC 4 documentary, aired last night, showing the lives of three race horses, don’t miss your chance to watch it on BBC i-player. (Click here to view)
Filmed at Irish trainer Paul Nolan's yard in Co Wexford, Ireland, the film records the highs and lows of National Hunt horses Ardalan, Cuan na Grai and Joncol throughout their season. The 80 minute film offers viewers a rare insight into the lives of race horses, the relationships they form with their jockeys and grooms and the jobs they do. It’s full of personality and gives a real sense of the life of a race horse.
Directed by American Liz Mermin, who spent a year in Ireland researching the film, 'Horses' has received acclaim from the British national and racing press, and we reckon whether you’re a fan of racing, or just a fan of horses, this is one show that shouldn’t be missed.
The documentary will be available to view on the BBC i-player website until April 6th.
