Despite the wind and rain the 2012 Equi-Trek Bramham Horse Trials managed to run with British riders William Fox-Pitt and Zara Phillips gaining some fantastic results.

Riding Neuf Des Coeurs William claimed first place in the CIC*** plus 12th place riding Lionheart while Zara took third with High Kingdom after Andrew Nicholson in second on Nereo.

But first and 12th in the CCI*** didn’t end William’s Bramham domination, as he also went on to win the CCI3* on Chilli Morning owned by Christopher Stone.

We saw William And Zara ride effortless dressage tests on Friday, which was no mean feat on the wet and slippery arena. Many riders did well to ride through slips and trips as the ground suffered under the rain.

Sadly, the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse classes, Stallion Parade, Pony Club Show Jumping and Mounted Game were cancelled due to the weather but a huge congratulations must go out to the event organisers who worked so hard to ensure the rest of the event went ahead – we’re sure riders, owners and spectators were all equally delighted that Bramham did not share the fate of other events earlier this year!
