Bransby Home of Rest in Lincolnshire will open its doors to visitors following the recent outbreak of Equine Flu.

Having been given the all clear by The Animal Health Trust, the centre will re-open on Monday 5 July 2010.

A vaccination programme for the animals that were not affected by the virus has now started and over the next few months the animals that were affected will begin their own vaccination programmes. All animals will then have an annual booster vaccination.

Bransby are keen to stop an event like this happening again and so a vaccination programme will also be implemented at the charities second home in Leominster in Herefordshire.

With less than half of the UK equine population vaccinated for equine flu, the charity is urging that every horse owner to get their horse vaccinated against.

Staff at the charity appreciate the level of support they've received throughout this difficult time and hope people will take the opportunity to pay the home a visit this summer holidays.
