The Brit Awards are coming up, but that¹s not what¹s got the equestrian world talking! An idea thought up by Liam Killen (Abbeyview Equine) and Rhea Freeman (Rhea Freeman PR) has got equestrian companies not only in the UK but internationally competing for its awards.
Social media sites, such and Facebook and Twitter, are being used more and more as a way for customers to connect and interact with their favourite brands, celebrities and events. The work that goes into these pages currently goes unrewarded, but not un-noticed, which is where the Equestrian Social Media Awards step in!
With 15 categories, there was a chance for everyone to get involved. They included; Best YouTube Channel, Best use of Social Media by a Charity, by a rider, by a feed company, etc.
First fans were asked to nominate their favourite pages/brands, and the top 10 in each category were put forward to the finals. After spending many hours counting up all nominations (a whopping 3708 in total) the finalists have been announced and we are delighted to be nominated for 2 categories!
Your Horse has been nominated for Category 8 - Best use of Social Media by a magazine and Your Horse Live has been nominated for Category 10 - Best use of Social Media by an event/show. Thank you to everyone that nominated us!
If you are a fan of Your Horse or Your Horse Live on Twitter or Facebook, and love our regular updates and discussions, please vote for us in our categories - it would be a great honour for us to be awarded an ESMA!
Voting is open now and will close at 1pm GMT on 18 February 2011 to vote for your favourites visit: www.abbeyequine.com/awards
