A 15-year-old pony is following in the hoof-prints of Susan Boyle and Stavros Flatley by auditioning for a place on Britain’s Got Talent.

‘Star’ has already thrilled thousands of visitors to the Hillside Animal Sanctuary and its forerunner the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre in West Runton.

Now she is all set for more fame and fortune as she has sailed through video auditions for the top-rated show with her popular ‘counting’ act.

Said to be one of the best in her field, the little pony will answer simple sums given to her by the audience – by pawing with her hoof on the ground.

Her repertoire includes adding, subtracting and multiplying, and she can even do her two times tables!

Next month Star is due to head out for her biggest challenge yet – an audition in front of those sometimes waspish judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.

In preparation she recently undertook a trial run at the Sheringham Little Theatre, where she thrilled a cheering crowd by getting ten out of ten.
