Struggling to think of an interesting gift idea? Why not forget the chocolate and socks this Christmas and look to the RSPCA for a ‘Truly Special Gift’.
The animal welfare charity is launching its Truly Special Gifts service where you can make a dedicated donation from £10 to £100 to one of the many areas the RSPCA specialises in.
Your donation could support wildlife rehabilitation centres, help inspectors to rescue animals in distress or provide financial aid for a rehoming centre.
The lucky recipient of your donation will be sent a certificate, information on what their donation will contribute towards as well as some RSPCA goodies.
The RSPCA has teamed up with another charity Outreach 3Way, which provides help and support for people with learning difficulties, to assemble the gift packs and other Christmas present ideas available from the RSPCA.
RSPCA corporate development manager Samantha Horvath says;
“As Christmas rolls around once again, it can be hard to come up with original ideas for presents. So, we hope that our Truly Special Gifts will solve this problem whilst also putting a smile on the faces of your friends and family and the RSPCA teams who will really welcome your support.”
The gifts on offer are:
Truly Special donkey gifts
• Contributions will go towards Lockwood Donkey Centre which was left to the RSPCA in 2005 when its owner died.
• It provides invaluable care and support for goats, donkeys, sheep, ponies, and even llamas!
Truly Special wildlife gifts
• Donations will go towards the work of Mallydams Wood wildlife centre in East Sussex.
• They regularly admit sick or injured hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers, foxes, seals and a wide variety of birds.
