Top young showjumper Ellen Whitaker has joined her uncle Michael and a host of other big names in the sport as an ambassador for Charles Owen.

Ellen and Michael, along with William Funnell,, Tim Gredley, Sophie Tobin, Joe Clayton, Dave Quigley, Pippa Allen, Paul Barker, Nicole Pavitt, Joe Whitaker, Thomas Whitaker and Donald Whitaker, can be seen wearing the new Ayr8 helmet, currently the talk of the showjumping circuit.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Charles Owen team,” said Ellen. “I have always trusted their helmets and the Ayr8 gives me the perfect combination of functionality, comfort and style. We have seen some bad falls in the ring this year and safety is definitely at the forefront of people’s minds, so working with Charles Owen was the obvious choice for me.”

The stylish Ayr8, Kitemarked to PAS015 and BSEN1384, has been developed for the equestrian athlete and uses advanced modern materials and the latest thermoregulation technology to keep the rider’s head cool.

This slimline helmet also has a soft suede harness incorporating the revolutionary GRpx technology, which features scientifically designed grippers that create a snug, secure fit.

In addition, the super-soft headband is embedded with hi-tech silver ions for built-in antimicrobial protection, which helps to keep the helmet hygienic and free from smells.

But this low profile helmet boasts more than safety and practicality – it has good looks too, combining microfibre suede side panels with a mesh centre to maximize airflow through the 12 ventilation apertures.

Available in sizes 6 5/8 to 7 1/2 in black/silver, black/gold, black/pink, black/black and navy/silver with a colour coordinated harness, the Ayr8 retails from £127.92 to £150.31.
