Grazing is the most natural – and cheapest - way to feed our horses and ponies, but many modern pastures are managed too intensively, producing lush grass that can pose a health risk varying from unwanted weight gain and consequent loss of fitness, to a potentially fatal attack of laminitis in susceptible animals.

Maintaining pastures correctly means keeping control of grass growth, ensuring consistent grazing quality throughout the growing season and making the right choice of fertiliser to avoid an unwanted flush of rich grass, as happens when agricultural fertiliser manufactured for pastures where high yielding dairy cows graze is used.
