Former chef d’equipe to the Dutch National Dressage Team, Bert Rutten, is holding two days of masterclasses at Kingston Maurward College’s, Dorset in July.

On Friday 9 July Bert will be holding masterclasses with professional riders, including GB Olympic team hopefuls Gemma Green riding Showtime and GB Paralympian Jo Pitt. But on Saturday 10 July he will hold eight masterclasses with members of the general public on their own horses.

“This is a fantastic chance for riders and trainers in the South West to see and experience the very best of international professional training,” Kingston Maurward’s head of equine, Aart Noordijk says.

The masterclasses follow a seminar lunch at Kingston Maurward for invited guests only when top riders and trainers gather to discuss issues facing competitors across the equestrian disciplines. Guest speakers at the seminar include Peter Aitken from Dorset Equine Vets and showjumping legend Jabeena Maslin. Jabeena has been GB coach for the riding phase of the Modern Pentathlon at four Olympic Games and is currently training team members for London 2012.

Both days are open to spectators. Half-day tickets are £5 in advance and £7 on the door. Call 01305 215 135 for bookings, or to reserve a masterclass call 01308 420 785.
