Dressage fans are being called upon to help our para riders prepared for success at London 2012 by turning out in force at a selection event to create an Olympic-style atmosphere.
British Dressage (BD), the sport’s governing body in the UK, is encouraging spectators to attend Hartpury Festival of Dressage CDPI from July 4 – 6 to help riders and horses get used to the environment of a major international show ahead of the Paralympics.
Entry to the CDPI event is free for spectators, and initial entries have been received from riders including nine-time gold medallist Lee Pearson, Sophie Wells, Natasha Baker, Anne Dunham and Sophie Cristiansen.
BD’s chief executive Amanda Bond said: “This is a great chance to see top class dressage, particularly for those who have missed out on tickets for the Games.
“We really need dressage enthusiasts to support the team with this crucial preparation for the Paralympics. It really is a case of your country needs you!”
For more information on the festival, which runs from July 4 - 8, visit www.hartpury.ac.uk/dressage/ and to find out more about the CDPI events call BD’s Sarah Overson on 02476 698819.
