Eddie Macken, one of Hickstead's heroes of the 1970s, makes a welcome return to the International Arena at the Longines Royal International Horse Show, which starts its five-day run on July 23.
Eddie, 59, has been named as one of the Irish showjumping team which has earned its place back in the Samsung Super League with FEI Competition (Great Britain), when the British team will be trying to go one better than their second place last year.
The nations competing on July 25 will be Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, last year's winner, the United States, Sweden and Belgium.
Eddie, who will be riding the Belgium-bred Tedechine Sept, holds the Hickstead record for four consecutive wins on his great horse Boomerang in what is now the DFS Derby at the British Jumping Derby Meeting.
Don't forget, one lucky person will be walking away with a pair of members tickets to the Royal International. For details click here. Entries close July 16.
