Adventurous souls who fancy trying a bit of trick riding are being invited to learn the ropes from a professional stunt riding team.

The Knights of Middle England Jousting and Stunt Riding Team will be offering two levels of workshop on the weekend of February 4 and 5, with instruction from Emmanuel Lafon, a fully trained, qualified and Equity registered stunt man.

On Saturday 4, the team is running an afternoon session aimed at riders who have already learned basic trick skills, which will include balance work and tricks at different paces (Level 2 training).

On Sunday 5, there will be a morning and afternoon sessions offering Level 1 training, which includes the basics of classical vaulting techniques and gymnastic horseback manoeuvres plus Cossack trick riding.

Emmanuel has more than 25 years’ experience in stunt riding, beginning his career with the circus and progressing to work on films including The Da Vinci Code, Robin Hood (with Russell Crowe) and more recently, BBC 1’s drama series Merlin.

Places cost £95 each and early booking is recommended. To find out more call The Knights of Middle England on 01926 400401, email info@knightsofmiddleengland.co.uk or visit www.knightsofmiddleengland.com
