Fancy trying something different? Then you might want to head over to the National Horse Boarding Centre in Seisdon nr Wolverhampton.
Horse boarding is a drag race over 100meters between two teams consisting of one horse, one horse rider and one board rider; first to the finish gets two points. one point for second and no points for falling off - which has been compared by one board rider to getting out of a car at 30mph. The competition is run in heats; each team races every other team in each heat twice, the competition points are added up and this gives the positions for the knock out part of the tournament.
The National Horse Boarding Championship is held over five events, two of which will be at the National Horse Boarding Centre in Seisdon nr Wolverhampton. The other three will be held at The Three Counties Show in June, the Wiltshire Game Fair in August and the Malvern Autumn Show on the 24th - 25th September (to be confirmed). Teams compete across the five competitions gaining National points at each adding them up to the final.
