Donations to the British Horse Society’s ‘Drawing the Line on Indiscriminate Breeding’ campaign are to be exhibited at the Cheltenham festival in March.
The campaign, which aims to bring an end to indiscriminate breeding of horses, has been backed by a number of equestrian celebrities such as Carl Hester and Frankie Dettori.
Leading equestrian artists have donated work to be auctioned in October, and some of these will be exhibited in the Hall of Fame at Cheltenham from March 16-19.
The BHS stand will also be selling a number of paintings by equestrian artists Nicola Moore, Carolyne Geary and Sarah Clegg. Ten per cent of each purchase will be donated towards BHS Welfare and its work on indiscriminate breeding.
Donations on show at the festival will include one from cartoonist Bryn Parry of a signed print, The Hunting Day and an original painting by Jacquie Jones.
Other celebrity donations include autographed sketches by Alan Titchmarsh, Lucinda Green, Matt Ryan and Kelly Marks, a beautiful painting by Noel Edmonds and a set of signed racing silks by racing champion Frankie Dettori.
