Winners at the showjumping Amateur and Veterans Championships

The 2009 British Showjumping National Amateur and Veterans Championships took place at Aintree Racecourse last week.

There were competitions for all levels of amateur rider, from the 90cms through to the 1.20m Grand Prix, and for the more mature rider, the Veteran Grand Prix. The winners were:

Norman Proffitt from Cannock, Staffordshire was crowned The British Showjumping National Minor Veteran Champion for 2009.
Norman was riding Audrey Evans’ bay 12-year-old gelding Patent. Norman also claimed third place on his own 11-year-old bay gelding Opium Du Centre.

The 2009 British Showjumping Major Veteran Championship was won by Sadie Burchmore from Northychurch, Hertfordshire riding Jack Eames’ 10-year-old bay mare, White Bless.

The 90cm British Showjumping National Amateur Grand Prix Final was won by Charlotte Arnold from Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland riding her own 11-year-old piebald gelding, Ballykissangel VI.

The 1.00m British Showjumping National Amateur Grand Prix Final was won by Angela Mills from Haswell, Co. Durham riding her own 16-year-old bay mare Gibside Sarleen.

The 1.10m British Showjumping National Amateur Grand Prix Final saw Alison Line from Boldon Colliery, Tyne & Wear riding her own 12-year-old chestnut mare, Arona take first place.

The 1.20m British Showjumping National Amateur Grand Prix Final was won by Ian Wynne Llangollen, Clwyd, riding Ann Wolley Dod’s nine-year-old dark bay gelding, Don Douglas. The pair were also the winners of the British Showjumping Amateur Classic Championship at HOYS in October.
