Olympic and international event rider Karen Dixon MBE will be offering advice on the retraining of ex-racehorses at a lecture demo this autumn.
The popular eventer will give practical tips on how to improve former racehorses’ way of going. ‘Guinea pigs’ with ex-racehorses will be able to benefit from Karen’s down-to-earth approach to schooling and reschooling horses at all stages of their training.
Supported by Baileys Horse Feeds and run in conjunction with the Retraining of Racehorses charity, the clinic will be held at the Northern Racing College, near Doncaster, on Friday November 21.
The lecture demo is ideal for people who have bought, or are considering buying, an ex-racehorse and want to learn more about introducing them to ‘ordinary’ life.
In addition to Karen’s input, a team of experts will explain what to expect from your ex-racehorse and how to feed it, as well as discussing some of the more common veterinary issues which may need to be overcome.
Tickets are £25 including lunch. For more details or to book, contact Sam Gurden at Baileys Horse Feeds on 01371 853676 or email sam@baileyshorsefeeds.co.uk
