Turville Valley Stud

Founded over 40 years ago, Turville Valley Stud is a Classical Training Centre specialising in training horses and riders for competition, using methods influenced by traditional Portuguese Classical equitation. 

Run by sisters Diane Thurman-Baker and Angela Fois, the centre has produced several notable successes, not least Diane’s daughters Joanna and Samantha Thurman-Baker. Fourteen-year-old Joanna, who will be riding at Your Horse Live, competes her horse Highcliffe Apollo at Prix St George and is currently on the GB Junior dressage team. Samantha has also been a member of Junior European teams and is currently competing at Grand Prix with her Cleveland Bay cross, Pascal.

At Your Horse Live Diane Thurman-Baker will demonstrate how to correctly work horses on the lunge and in-hand, and will explain the different equipment and techniques available for ground work.  She’ll show how to make the exercises relevant and appropriate for any horse, at any level, making this demo a must for any horse owner.
