Condition scoring a horse is not easy and – as this video shows – it can’t be done by eye alone.

Watch and learn as experts from the British Horse Society condition score a 29-year-old pony called Dunbar. They will show you which areas to pay particular attention to as you use your eyes and touch to see and feel the horse’s condition. The results go to show that you can’t rely on the eye alone and will help you get a feel for what is the correct weight for a horse.
