From a twinge of apprehension out hacking to a paralysing anxiety attack in the show jumping ring, it’s all too easy for nerves to spoil our riding pleasure and the relationship with our horse. Lack of confidence can turn our dreams, such as galloping along a beach or riding over fences, into our worst nightmare. But there are plenty of small steps we can take to build confidence on and around horses.
