What is TREC?
TREC stands for Technique De Randonnee Equestre De Competition which translates literally as Equestrian Trekking Techniques Competition. It's a unique test of horse and rider partnership that appeals equally to novices and champions alike. Just about anyone can have a go, on any type of horse or pony, as an individual, pairs or even teams. |

The competition structure
TREC is split into 3 phases. Phase 1: Parcours d’Orientation et de Régularité (POR). Phase 2: Maîtrise des Allures (Control of Paces/Gaits or CP). Phase 3: Parcours en Terrain Varié (PTV). Scoring is based on accumulating the most points from a maximum total of 460. |
