Have had my 3 yr old gelding for 2 months. His previous owners had some suspect methods and did not feed him properly - was fed straw instead of hay and nothing else and had a massive worm burden. Despite this he is willing, & affectionate. However, he's very sensitive about having his stomach touched (worse on off-side) - kicks out and bites, often refuses to lift up off foreleg and is cranky when girthing. Could he have gastric ulcers?
