Well with mine I always got them used to thing like at two I would have got them used to the saddle and bridle. So by the time you do break them in the saddle and bridle is just part of everyday life so one less thing to worry about. you can start leading out in traffic to get used to it. I started very lighty long leining my two year colt (always in walk and just off his head coller but with a saddle or roller on) I would walk him over poles, round cones, over rugs. It never did him any harm I never put pressure on him just took it very slowly and just had fun and he loved it. When it came it breaking him in it was no bother he even fell asleep when I first sat on him lol. he was so used to me putting saddles on and messig about with him he just not bothered lol. I never start working them till they are more mature which I personally think is about 4 to 5. At two to three thier bones are still growing and if you do alot of hard work you will have problems later in life ( i know alot of people ride their horses at 3 regulary but there is also alot of lame horses by 10) Have fu with your filly and teach her new things and get her used to things but dont worry about 'working' her. Its your horse and you'll know whats right for her!!!
