I agree with other comments. Work without stirrups really helps, especially if you can have a lunge lesson so you can grab the saddle and pull yourself in without having to worry about controlling your horse. Try not to concentrate too hard, this may sound weird, but if you think too much you may get too tense and too preoccupied with what you're doing. I had a lunge lesson a few years ago which concentrated on me being able to find my stirrups in canter as I kept losing them. I didn't do too well on that front but my seat got better just through the practice!
