Has anyone any suggestions to help me mount my horse more quickly? He just moves away slightly when I put my foot in my stirrup. Just moves to the side or backwards and makes it really awkward.

I have this issue with my share horse - basically you just have to do it quickly. Try facing her at a wall or blocking her path somehow and just make sure you grab some mane!

You can get a friend to to hold him while you mount and reward him if he stays still you could try using a mouning block or a leg up
