My horse wont go through water, but I have a hunter trial in 5 days and it has a water jump?? How do I go through it and stay on??

you could get off and lead him to get his confidence, then walk and halt in it, if he is scared reassure him and repeat this. then try in trot, canter and finally jump. hope this helps xxx

Well i know a pony who is afraid of water so they started rubbing it on her legs so she would get used to it mabey that would help.Or if you are willing to get wet you can lead him/her through the water or walk through to show him its okbut dont splash alot otherwise it will just make him more scared. also when you are coming to the water DONT get nervous otherwise your pony will sense it and will wonder why you are worried so they think there is something wrong so they dont want to do it because they think something is wrong. Try letting him look at it for a bit, check it out then go ahead and lounge him through a few times till hes trotting through instead of running like a maniac. If you want him to really jump over it put some placing poles infront or some white chalky substance infront and in back of it(like what they use in baseball). Hope this helps :)
