I had never done dressage before I got my stallion nearly 18 months ago. He is 12 next month and he had never been schooled properly or had time spent riding him correctly. Now we are learning dressage movements together and it is fun for both of us. Whether we do a dessage competition one day or not doesnt matter we are having fun! I am 44 so its never too late for horses or riders!

It's never too late. My friend is re-schooling a 15yr old horse and he has so much potential. To make him more forward going you have to work on transitions and being consitent. I squeeze with my legs, small kick and it my horse isn't off my leg by then she get a tap up.

 no definitely not, 11 is not at all too old for dressage! It doesn't really matter how old your horse is, as long as you try and school a lot he could do brilliantly. There's always horses that are much older than your loan horse and have done amazingly well at dressage. My horse is nearly 22 and still loves dressage!
