My new mare doesn't respect me at all ! She is fine handling her on the ground and when I start a ride, however about half way round a hack, or in the second field (fine for the first canter!), she sometimes takes off with me! She can be really strong and has even bucked and reared even though the previous owners said she would never. Am I doing something wrong? She just doesn't respect me - I'm quite a quiet, nervous rider but get cross when she is a pain for ages.
