I have got to the point where I have retired her as you can't get the tack near her and if you do get the tack on her, she bites as you do the girth up. If you manage to get your foot in the stirrup she throws herself about so much its dangerous.

I'm just leaving it in the hands of the vet now.

I have had a mare exactly like this and we used suppliments like Oestress -For the nutritional support of the hormonal system in mares, Cod liver oils etc. and Oestress works a treat. You may find around the time your mare comes into season she gets tender around her ovaries (my mares did) they get moody and its generally not fun, and rather puts your off mares, but try a suppliment in her feed, see if it helps - use it all the time to build it up and help balance her hormones so she doesnt get such of a massive influx of them when she comes into season. It wont fix the problem but it took my mares from being hell on legs to a little irratable. Hope this helps!
