Would TTEAM exercises help motivate my lazy, clumsy 17hh eight-year-old IDx?

TTEAM expert Claire Marr says:
It sounds as though your horse’s front and back aren’t connected. This hints towards tension in his back and some TTEAM exercises may help to relieve this.
Try these exercises:
1. Bodywork. Run one hand gently down the line of your horse’s shoulder (roughly from the withers to the centre of the chest). Repeat this several times – the more you do it, the more you’ll find that you can get your fingers a bit deeper, and this will help to free up the shoulders
2. Shoulder lifts. Pass a rolled-up towel around the top inside of each of your horse’s fore legs (his ‘armpit’) and slowly and gently raise the towel up for a count of four before releasing
3. Belly lift. This is the same as above, helping to release tension, but you’ll need a helper. Pass a towel underneath your horse’s belly and hold it on either side. Start at the girth line and lift slowly for a count of four, pause for four, then slowly lower for eight.
