my sister purcased a pony for her 3 kids that was rearing. the owner agreed to take him back and admitted that the pony had had a bad experience in the past. i would recomend reschooling and try to find out any background infomation. hope i helped    eilpop

Do you have the original advert for the pony?  If it says it's suitable for young children then I'd say that a nappy horse that rears might be sufficient for her to have misadvertised the pony and have to give you your money back...in theory!  It is also supposed to be the case that if you ask a direct question, eg "Does the horse nap?" the vendor should give an honest answer.  Even an honest dealer is likely to say (if it's true!) "it hasn't been known to nap"  In reality if she is playing difficult you may need to take or threaten court action or sell the pony on for what it is and take the financial hit.  It's sad that dealers like this are allowed to trade.  Look for dealers registered with BETA.  Good luck!

This would be a case of an "item" being sold not as described/advertised.  Did you have the horse vetted prior to purchase?  What is your own level of experience and if you are not experienced did you obtain independent advice from an expert?  If the answer is no to these it would be difficult to prove, but the best way forward is to contact the trading standards people to advise you.
