I organise shows – do I have to check passports when the competitors arrive?
Answer
By Your Horse
No, it’s the responsibility of the owner to ensure the passport accompanies any horse competing at an event. However, the organiser or the society holding the competition may state, as part of its own rules, that competitors must have their horse’s passports in order to compete. At competitions and shows, Local Authorities can check horse passports and enforcing regulations.
