I had several horses insured with them for many years and the first time I had to make a claim (for vets fees) it took them more than 6 months to settle the claim. Just over a year later I had to make another, smaller claim (vets fees for the same horse but a totally unrelated condition) and they used every excuse in the book to try to wriggle out of paying until I eventually contacted the insurance ombudsman, at which point they magically settled the claim! 

Now I have my horses with KBIS and trailer with AmTrust Equine, very happy with both companies.

Dont use e&l, there the worse company, i had been with them 5 years with my mare they wouldnt pay out for her vet fee a few years ago or when we had tack stolen, try nfu :)
