What is the best insurance for my all rounder horse? I am looking for insurance that will pay out and one that does allow you to claim money for an incident? I have heard some are better than others!

I would highly recommend Petplan - I had a mare who had colic last year and they paid out upto my fees limit of £5000 no problems at all. They also paid quickly and efficiently when I lost her and previous to that had paid for a minor incident no fuss at all. They are easy to get hold of and really nice and sympathetic to talk to. This is my experience anyway - they are a bit more on the pricey side but I would rather pay a few extra pounds a month than have the stress I have seen some people in when the insurance won't pay up and there are a lot thet won't. My final bills came to over £7000 so I would never have coped! A couple of my friends are with NFU and highly recommend them. Only thing about Petplan is they don't pay transport - other than this can't fault.
