Often with insurance companies, if the horse is being insured for under £2500, you don't have to provide a vet's certificate. However, I personally wouldn't buy a horse without getting it checked out by the vet first - you just don't know what's happened to them before! One of my friends bought a pony for eventing without vetting him, turned out he had a grade 2/3 heart murmur and would never be able to do so! x
