My Welsh C has a decent amount of feather and now it's winter he has a bit more than usual, I've started to put over-reach/bell boots on him as he's clipping his front every now and again, but my problem is, do I leave the feathers in or out of the boots? They fit him either way but which is more comfy? I don't want him to get sore by leaving the feathers out but don't want to restrict his movement by keeping them in? Any one else have this problem with ponies with hairy legs?
