if the mud fever becomes weapy and needs scrubbing and cleaning with hibiscrub, then it'll be a lot easier if you clipped the legs, that way the mud won't stick to the feathers and hair and u will be able to keep the area clean and drier.
The bacteria that causes mud fever loves the warm damp areas and the hair on the horses legs will help it get worst.
Clip the area (cut with a pair of sissors over the sore areas), keep it clean and dry!
