Thanks for all your help every1! Yes i did think at first that it was maybe him rubbing his legs from him getting up after lying down eventho he has a very thick straw bed with HUGE banks!! But ive physically seen him leaning on the wall scratching! I've check in his fur but no sign at all of mites, have also hibiscrubs it and applied vaseline, etc. I've now been told it cud be caused by straw mites which u cant see and no matter how good quality the straw, they are still there. So as suggested by a couple of u, im gonna get the frontline spray in hope it will help. But the horse in the stable next to me also does it and he is on shaving?!!? Strange! He is fine with his travel boots on, they are not huge bulky ones, just enuf to protect his hocks and backs of his legs. Thanx again peeps! x
