for the first week i would just walk starting on about 20mins and by the end of the week 1 hour, and try going up hills in walk aswell. the start to trot on 2nd week starting with a few small trots and again by the end of the week or maybe another week start troting up hill. then do the same thing in canter. lunging is also very good for there fitness, just remember to take things very slowly xxx
