hiya - i suggest seriously cutting down on the amount of hard feed you giving your boy - four scoops of mix twice a day is quite alot; my mare was a good doer and before being retired she was doing elementry dressage and jumping and was getting pony nuts in her snack a ball and some alfa-beet in her bucket for her supplements and access to ad-lib forage, and as long as your boy is getting plenty of forage and the right nutrients in adequate amounts he will be fine - do get an accurate reading, sites like saracen or dengie etc can offer nutritional feedback to tell you how much nutrients/minerals your horse should get, and by comparing the recommended amount to his actual amount, they can suggest feedstuff and quantities to feed him and possible ways to keep the belly off him, but id def cut his hard feed intake bigtime right now. hope some of this helps, kirst x
