You need to progress through stages, firstly go into your horses field when you don't intend on catching him and get him used to you just being there. Do this a couple of times and then start giving him treats in your hand and stoke him but still don't catch him.
Once he understands that you're his friend introduce a headcollar but still give him treats in your hand, everytime he gets a treat make a distinctive noise, like a clicking or a whistling, eventually your horse will get used to this noise and he will relate it to a treat.
Once your horse is fine being caught with a treat try catching him without a treat but still make this noise, he will eventually forget that he will recieve a treat and will just think the noise your making is a good and comforting one. Evetually you will just have to make this noise and your horse will come to you.
However this does not work overnight it may take a few months for your horse to be confident when being caught. Hope this helps x
