My horse has started eating his own droppings – why?

It’s unusual for horses to eat their own droppings, but it could indicate a lack of salt. Another reason may be a vitamin or mineral imbalance. It’s advisable to get a blood sample done to identify the imbalance – you can then supplement the feed with the correct nutrients. In the meantime, make sure all droppings are picked up regularly.
