Absolutely for no such thing as punishment. Not even arguing it. You just DO not do that. Absolutely uncalled for an unnessary. Whips are for reinfinement and the only whip I use is a schooling stick, not those awful short ones!

a whip is an aid not a weapon, it is used to reinforce your legs when requesting your horse to move its feet. It should not be used with any more pressure than you can bear when you tap your own bare calf on any occassion.

I only carry it in a riding lesson to (only if I have to) reinforce my leg if I don't get a response from my leg aids. <3 riding x

I just carry a whip with my cob , i hardly ever have to use it carry it, and she behaves.
