My horse was sold to me with a saddle that fits him well, but I’m a different size to his previous owner and I hate riding in it!

Rider balance is important. The rider should be positioned in such a way as to gain maximum connection with their horse and be able to give strong leg aids with a light seat. A good saddle fitter will see you ride and take into consideration such things as:
1. Does the rider appear comfortable or is she behind the movement?
2. Does the lower leg sweep forward in rising trot?
3. Is there any excessive movement or bounce in the saddle when
it’s ridden in? Some movement is normal and can’t be avoided, but this shouldn’t affect your horse in any way.
