my pony i use to have was a do-gooder and in the winter we gave her a handfull of chaff and a bit of sugarbeet to dampen it and in the stable she just had a slice or two of hay and in the summer she had no hard feed and restriced grazing and a bit of hay every other day in with her. It obvously depends what work you are doing but we use to so pony club, local shows, hacks, etc and she seemed fine. Hope this helps.  x

limited grazing and a scoop of mollichaff hoofkind a day.thats what my mate gets, also lots of trotting uphill helps burn calories, and build muscle:)
