What should I feed my new horse? He is 6 but from the horse fairs in Ireland, is backed but untrained, and is learning the aids for canter at the moment. I would say he is a good doer but lacks alot of muscle tone and has a big belly. He is turned out on grass during the day and kept it at night with 2 haynets and a horse lick. Is this enough, or should I be feeding him some chaff and pony nuts (or something else!) aswell?
