Hi, I feed my mare on Leigh's senior chaff, and a handful of Alfalfa, plus garlic powder. Just put her on Blue Chip, as had had her on Top Spec to build up a torn muscle, but her hoof quality was deteriorating as always fed Slenavite E, but ommitted this as Top Spec supposed to have everything they need.
So adding Farriers Formula for a couple of months to make up the deficit, then try the Blue Chip on it's own, but prepared to go back to adding the selenavit E if necessary, as used it for the last 11 yrs with good horn quality.
Have weaned her off sugar beet shreds, but she is still very bouncy at 16yrs!, they are just a very quick thinking warmblood, that dosn't suffer fools gladly. You always have to be one step ahead of them! they're intelligence is second to none, as is their affections and energy levels. I don't think I could bare to ever be without an Arab, no other breed can compare once you've bonded with one!!!!
Take care, let us know how you get on.
