Hi i have a 14hh good doer 3/4 Highland and 1/4 Arab who is stabled at the moment till the 16acre field gets better as its really mudddy and is in hard work. I feed my mare, 1 scoop baileys everyady high fibre mix, 2 scoops ShowShine chaff and 2 scoops Alfalfa-A oil, 1 mug baileys lo-cal balancer, 1 mug fibrebeet and 1 mug of sugar beet with 3 sleeves of hay. She is stabled so not getting grass etc. She also has a likit, salt and mineral lick so she doesn't get bored. Since you are only doing light work with him i would suggest 1 scoop of baileys everyday high fibre mix and 1 scoop of Hi-Fi good doer twice a day or half it into two feeds with 2 sleeves of hay. Hi I have a 12.2hh new forest that has had laminitis, and a cob x arab that is rising 4yrs. I feed them both hifi light and lo-cal balancer, and a small amount of hay Remember they need to lose any exess weight in the next 6wks, before the grass starts to grow again!

I have a good doer, a connemarra x irish draft horse, he put on too much weight last year, I used to feel sorry for him and gave him a nice big dinner at night, trouble was he wasnt being ridden enough, so this year I have cut right back, ab lib hay, and a small breakfast and small supper, I am giving him 'safe and sound' which is chaff based but has all the vitamins and minerals and also large squashy nuts inside it, its recommended for laminitus suffers but, I dont have that problem.  His weight is now just right, I am happy with him.
