depending on the work you are doing with you pony would be of what to feed but if you feed the best quality of feed then you will not need as much as a poorer quality feed, think you are asking about mixes but i dont feed these as too expensive and you cannot be sure of the accurate contents in every scoop also some equines do not suit the types offered on the market, horses are grazzers and should be fed to this rule, i own a 4 year old pure arab 15hh and he is of medium build, doing 1/2 hours work a day,(being broken) being fed 1 scoop of chaff, 3/4 scoop rolled barley, 3/4 scoop sugar beet, naff pink powders and parsnips and carrots, split into 2 feeds, kept out in a 2 acre paddock, not rugged as i am feeding him for warmth with the barley, he has adlib hay , this was in march this year, if the weather was bad rain he came in over night, the barley and chaff lasts for roughly 3 weeks and a bag of sugar beet pellets for aprox 2 months, aprox cost of 2.50 per week on this feed.. oh and he is not a good doer, pictured 4 weeks ago...hope this helps...
