I guess it would depend on whether she is overweight If she is just stick to the haylage and lo cal (probably 3 mugs for a balanced diet) plus a little chop If you need to keep weight on her it seems like you are underfeeding course mix and supplementing with low cal. I would expect a 15.2 to need approx 1 Stubbs round scoops of most mixes. With a full ration of mix you could cut out the low cal as it will be no longer necessary. I found I could keep weight on my thoroughbred by feeding haylage ad lib with a full ration of fibre cubes, which was a surprise after having messed around with bits of this and that for years! I'd strongly recommend ringing one of the manufacturer feed lines, they are very good.

Personally I wouldn't feed Haylage unless he a problem with dust. With the feed it depends if he is overweight???

i have a 15.2/3 cob, and mine is on half a round scoop of alfa a oil and half a round scoop of 16+ (in winter-living out) because hes 19 years old and i think he needs a little extra vitamins but if he was 8 years old id feed him just a normal mix ( like pony cubes), and hi-fi lite because its little calories, if i was you id half the feed you give her morning and night because this sounds quite alot of calories for a cob depending on whether shes a good doer or not but most cobs seem to be, and i woul'nt worry so much about the amount of haylage as this keeps them warm, i hope this hepls you :) x

well it depends is your horse over weight in your opinion??? with a balancer you may not need to feed as much mix or sugar beet as it gives your horse all the stuff it needs. if your horse is over weight i would definatly cut down on mix, sugar beet and even the chaff. hope this helps a little!
