Hiya I have the same problem with mu 7 year old. I have just taken my horse off fixes and now feed him copra and hi fi. I don't know if you know about copra but it is totally starch and grain free and made from the white part of coconut. It is non heating and is already making a difference with my horse. You can view info on copra on the internet, the product is called cool stance I think. Hope it helps. X

A lot of horses are allergic to mixes. It's not the mix so much as the cereal in the mix. Horses are forrage. Nuts are a better option with a chaff. Alteritivly contact Simple Systems forrage feeding They are very informative re feeding non fizzy feeds.
